The brewery's philosophy is that it is the natural surroundings that make the best shochu and in keeping with tradition the brewery is located in one of the most picturesque parts of Kyushu in the area believed to be the first part of Japan to poke out from the ocean at its birth. The brewery sources their water from a volcanic spring that has formed from 5 different rapids. Unkai translates to 'sea of clouds' and is named after the Autumn view that you get from the top of a hill in the region which was made famous by an emperor in Japan who would there morning, noon and night. Unkai is a single distilled shochu. PALATE: Pure sweet flavour of buckwheat.Drink on the rocks, straight or diluted with water.
