Dan’s Sausage Pizza

Travel to Naples, Italy with Dan’s sausage pizza recipe using Approved Food products.

Ingredients:

  • Pizza base (Napolina 2 Large Pizza bases 300g, £0.99 each, RRP £1.70)
  • Tomato topping (Princess pizza topping 800g, £0.99 each, RRP £2.00)
  • Sausage (Approved Food meat hamper £15)
  • Olive oil (Flora sunflower oil cooking spray 300ml £.099 RRP £2.00)
  • 1 Red onion (chopped thinly)
  • Your choice of cheese: feta (diced), mozzarella (chopped), cheddar (grated)
  • Basal or parsley (optional)

Method:

Preheat the oven to 240°C/ 220°C fan/ gas mark 8. Chop up the sausages. Add oil to a frying pan on medium heat and add the sausages once the pan is hot. Cook until fully cooked inside, rotating occasionally. Make sure they are cooked throughout and allow them to cool. Tear off some baking sheet or foil and place it onto a baking tray, place the pizza base on top.

Now it’s time to add the toppings. Spread the princess pizza topping onto the pizza base all the way to the edges. Arrange the sausages on to the base. Scatter the chopped onion evenly on top and scatter the cheese of your choice. Place on the middle tray in the oven and cook for 10-15 minutes or until fully cooked. Once cooked scatter the pizza with basal or parsley leaves before serving.
