Easy Peasy Bolognese Recipe

Ingredients:

  • Pasta (Garofalo Candelle 500g 2 for £1.50 or £0.89 each RRP £1.99,  Garofalo long spaghetti Lunghi pasta 500g 2 for £1.50 or £0.89 each RRP £1.99)
  • Mincemeat (Approved Food meat hamper £15)
  • Olive oil (Flora sunflower oil cooking spray 300ml £.099 RRP £2.00)
  • 1 Onion
  • Bolognese sauce (Loyd Grossman Tomato and Basil Sauce 150g 2 for £1.00 or £0.59 each RRP £1.40) (Homepirde Mediterranean chicken sauce 2 for £1.50 or £0.89 each RRP £1.59) (Bertolli Pecorino 400g £0.99 RRP £1.10)
  • Choice of cheese (grated)

Method:

Cook the pasta in boiling salted water according to the packet instructions. Once the spaghetti is cooked drain and set aside. Peel and chop the onion. Add sunflower oil to a frying pan on medium heat and add the onion. Cook for 5 minutes or until soft, stirring occasionally. Add the mincemeat to the onions breaking it up using a spoon. Cook till browned over. Add your chosen bolognese sauce and stir for 4-5 minutes or until hot. Toss in the cooked spaghetti and stir till the pasta is completely coated.

Time to plate up: add the pasta and sauce to a bowl and top with grated cheese. Make sure the food is piping hot before serving. *Leftover bolognese can be frozen but make sure it is fully cooled beforehand *.
