Sheffield foodies can grab some of the best grub the region has to offer at the city’s annual food festival later this month.
Sheffield Food Festival returns for a sixth year over the bank holiday weekend between Saturday 28 May and Monday 30 May and promises to be bigger and better than ever.
The Sheffield Hallam University-organised event will see the heart of the city transformed with visitors being able to eat, drink and shop at the artisan food stalls in and around the Peace Gardens, Winter Gardens and Millennium Square.
Visitors will be able to wash down their tasty treats with locally brewed beers.
There will also be family-friendly activities including Whirlow Hall Farm Trust’s pop-up farmyard in Millennium Square and gingerbread person decorating in the Winter Garden.
BBC Radio Sheffield will once again return to stage their version of Ready, Steady, Cook, where two presenters will attempt to create a culinary sensation in just 30 minutes with £5 of ingredients.
In the festival demo kitchen, there will be masterclasses with some of the region’s best chefs, gluten free baking with Great British Bake Off’s Howard Middleton and Approved Foods, a key sponsor of the event, will be showcasing food that’s past its best before date that’s still #PerfectlyGood.
The Moor will also be running Taste Moor, a series of activities and events as part of the festival on Saturday 28 May. This will include dance sessions, craft activities and food demonstrations.

“Sheffield Food Festival has established itself as the place to come to enjoy the best local produce the city’s independent traders have to offer.
