Russian Doughnuts

The Football starts today, are you ready to cheer your favourite team? How about trying these Russian Doughnuts to celebrate the start of the tournament?


  • 250g ricotta cheese
  • 2 eggs
  • 125g plain flour: PlainFlour_Approved_Food
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • Vanilla extract
  • Oil for frying
  • Icing sugar for dusting 


Heat a pan of oil to 190°C. Place all the ingredients in a bowl and mix. Roll into balls. The mixture can be very sticky so it is best to use wet hands or make balls using a spoon and drop carefully into the hot oil directly. Fry the balls in batches till golden brown. Remove carefully from the oil and transfer to a paper towel on a plate. Repeat till all the doughnuts are fried. Cool slightly and sprinkle with icing sugar.

*Be careful as the oil is very hot*
