Spanish Churros

Spain drew with Portugal on the 15th June, how about making these Spanish Churros to celebrate? Great served warm with chocolate. Get the recipe below.


  • 240ml water
  • 2.5 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoon oil
  • 120g flour PlainFlour_Approved_Food
  • 1L oil
  • 100g sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

In a small pan combine the water, sugar, salt and oil. Bring to the boil. Add the flour and stir till a ball forms. Add the 1L of oil to a deep frying pan and heat. Transfer the dough mixture to a pipping back. Pipe long cylinders into the oil once hot and cook till firm and brown. Transfer each to a paper towel on a plate to soak up the excess oil. Combine the sugar and cinnamon on a large plate and roll the warm churros till covered. Eat warm with hot chocolate or dip in melted chocolate.
